Hello seniors! 👋
I am Yoshida from Japan.
I am a full-stack engineer from Japan.
I have found this forem in dev.to community.
I want to contribute to make DEV community better.
And I want to learn a lot from you, worldwide talents.
Best regards.
Welcome Yoshida! 👋 Great to hear that DEV brought you here and really hope you like learning about Forem through this site. 🙂
Thank you.
Welcome Masao🥳
hi
Hey, there Yoshida
Welcome to the family! Your nation is well renowned for its advancements in robotics and I'm interested in getting acquainted with the field.
Hoping to learn and network with you!

Hi
Hello folks,
I own BassGuitar.com and am very interested in standing up a FOREM based community for Bass Guitar enthusiasts. I also manage a Facebook page for BassGuitar.com that has 17K followers so there is a seed community to be drawn on.
My hope is to find a team of developers who are familair with the FOREM platfrom and who also are interested in a musician centered social network.
While I don't have any dev or product management skills, I do have a lot I can bring to the effort in a few critical areas.
All the best,
Ron Sheridan
Hey Ron,
Really awesome to hear about your community!
I'm a singer/guitarist so naturally have created a Forem for synthesizer enthusiasts called synthusiasts.club. 😅
I'm no bassist (yet!) but just give me time.
Anyway, I definitely think Forem has a bright future for hosting music-focused communities. The ability to easily embed YouTube videos and Soundcloud within posts is pretty dang sweet!
For instance, here's my band (commencing shameless promotion...):
And a really cool jam by Victor Wooten:
If you have any questions about Forem, don't hesitate to hit me up! You can visit my profile:

And should see a button to chat with me!
Hello again Michael,
Would it be possible to arrange a brief chat with you?
I want very much to find some help standing up a BassGuitar.com community using FOREM.
For example are you aware of a FORM community member who might be able to assist me on a contract basis or other arrangement?
All the best,
Ron Sheridan

Hey Ron!
Apologies for the delayed response. I took a long weekend trip to see some family... anywho, back in action now. 🙂
I'd love to schedule a time to chat with you!
I'll shoot you an email and we'll figure out a good time to meet up.
Just a heads up that I may need to wait until next week to meet, because this week my team is hosting a conference called CodeLand so it's kind of all hands on deck right now.
Anywho, I'll be in touch and we'll find time to meet soon!
All good Michael,
Thanks for the reply!
You ok planning a call for next week?
I'll make time.
All the best,
Ron Sheridan
ron@ronsheridan.com
Awesome! We'll get some time in the books. Emailing ya now!
Sorry for the delayed reply :(
Get this, I don't play Bass either, I'm a drummer.
I checked out and joined your Synth community. So you've already learned a bit.
Any chance you'd jump on a screen call w me and share you FOREM experiences and thoughts?
I am eager to stand up a BassGuitar.com community and def need some help.
Have a great weekend.
Haha! Well look at us... a drummer starting a bass community. And a guitarist/singer starting a synth community. Love it! 😀
Bassguitar.com SSL certificate is expired FYI
Thank you, Larry!
It's time for forem to have another baby!
I'm willing to self-host Forem on DigitalOcean and create a discussion board for the legaltech industry.
Hopefully, also contribute by doing some i18n work (I see not much has being done there yet)
Hey Yaroslav,
This sounds awesome!
The legaltech industry sounds like a cool niche to target.
Please let us know how ya get on and if you need any help, just ask away via the #help tag:
#help
And I'll be sure to pass on the feedback to the team that i18n is in demand.
#help
So, I want to host an instance of Forem and so far it's being a bit more complex than expected...
I've created a DigitalOcean and am following the forem/selfhost instructions
I'm a bit stuck here
Once DNS is pointed at your Forem VM, you will need to restart the Forem Traefik service (sudo systemctl restart forem-traefik.service) via SSH on your Forem server (github.com/forem/selfhost#ssh-exam...) to generate a TLS cert.
I don't get it: what password can I use to enter inside here:
ssh core@<SERVER IP ADDRESS>
#help
Hey Yaroslav,
I'm really sorry for leaving you hanging here!
And, I should've been more clear. You can post this as an article under the #help tag and someone from the team will be happy to assist. Here's an article that explains how to post.
But in this instance, I'm going to loop in @coffeecraftcode to help out with your question here!
Hey @yshmarov I can help. Can you let me know what the last step you did was? I think you might be in the wrong part of the self-host docs but I want to make sure before giving advice.
Are you following the instructions here github.com/forem/selfhost#digitalo... ?
You can also check out the more in depth guide I put together on forem.dev here

Hi everyone!
I'm Dominic.
I work as a Junior Full-Stack Developer at an e-commerce agency in the UK, I am also studying at the Open University. I mainly code in Javascript, Python, CSS and Elm but also dabble in other languages. I co-organise a Twitter chat on art, design and technology.
I am passionate about online community building and have registered for the Codeland workshops on setting up a self-hosted Forem as I am super interested in the Forem platform and am keen to see it from the other side, as it were!
Glad you could join us, @dominicduffin1 ! Sorry for the super-slow response to your comment ☺️ Hope you've been having fun learning about Forem in the workshops.
Hi Everyone,
Tim here from Singapore. I have been on the search for a good open source forum platform, but have only found discourse back then.
I found this on a article on top open source forums and its interesting to see such a design for a forum.
I have just successfully hosted my forem on UpCloud. Can't wait to get tinkering with the various capabilities of forem.
Thank you @forem for giving us a better option and better user centric design.
Catch you guys around.
Hey @noeltim - welcome, and congrats on successfully hosting your Forem! We are glad you found us, and can't wait to see more from you and your community!
Thanks @ellativity
Hi I am from the land of the long white cloud New Zealand. My only hobby atm is leaning to code to be a game dev but I see I want to know it all lol. I have 5 kids that keep me busy too so its a juggling act. A fun fact is that I love to play jokes on my partner all the time lol and she loves me for that I think lol. My interest is building a game on blockchain so I want to start in easy then build epic, I have 20 years of playing games and have so many ideas to go epic as but I see building epic will take more than just me. I am here to learn but will work towards being a teacher as I think I will need to teach people to help them so some of them can help me build my epic games so building a forum is what I might have to do along my journey but Every Friday I will discuss a review on my path on my social media networks to help others become developers. The skill set I have that makes me good at understanding information are my Autistic traits that were probably a weakness when I was young but now since I understand them I see things differently and have over the years streamlined those skills sets and those Austic traits are a blessing today as I screen through information with ease and can see the benefits. Anyway Hi to you all and hope I can add value to this platform as I learn to code.
Hi Steven 👋
Welcome to Forem.dev!
This community is dedicated to helping folks who are interested in building communities on Forem. This site is actually built on Forem!
You can browse through a bunch of other Forems that have been launched right here. We don't yet have any Forems specifically for gaming devs, but hopefully very soon we will.🤞
We do have a #gamedev tag on DEV, our largest Forem community that's also run by the Forem Team, so you might be interested in joining up with the community there and following this tag to regularly see game dev content! You also might like checking out posts under #unity or #unreal. If you don't find what you're looking for, you could even consider posting a question under #help to ask folks whatever it is that you might need. Generally speaking, the community at DEV is very friendly and eager to help new developers.
Similarly, we have a community specifically for new developers called CodeNewbie that you might want to join up with and talk with others about game development. This community is a bit smaller than DEV, but still very active and friendly!
Lastly, if you do decide to join multiple Forem communities, I'd suggest that you sign up with our new OAuth method, Forem passport, which will allow you to easily sign up across multiple Forems. If you do sign up, all you need to do is visit your account settings on any Forem that has it activated (e.g. dev.to/settings/account) and click “Connect Forem Account” at the top of the page to connect your Forem.
Anyway, if you have any questions about the Forem platform, any of our communities like DEV, Passport, or anything else, don't hesitate to get in touch!
Thank You Michael, I do a daily routine so I keep to the master plan which I will now add this Forem to keep me posted and up to date on the latest trends and how too's. I really appreciate the feedback and hope to share my experiences as I learn to be a game developer.
Hey World!
I am Nia from Colorado.
I am going to start a bootcamp at a local community college her for Front-End Software Development.
I love playing with my kids.
My favorite thing to do on the weekends is go fishing.
I joined this forem to meet other like minded souls to vibe and talk code with!
Don't be shy! Let's talk code.
Best Regards,
Nia
Hey Nia!
It's awesome to hear that you're looking to create a Front-End bootcamp for your local community college.
I just recently wrote a post called Why Forem is a good fit for hosting your college community which ya might like to check out:

Hi everyone !
I'm Rayan from Paris, France :)
I'm passionate about building technology to reduce poverty and address the United Nations sustainable development goals. A few years ago I was building a business training app for low-literate populations in India (like financial literacy for street vendors). That unfortunately didn't work out and I came back to France just in time for covid !
Since then I've been actively following people and organisations working in international development, but I often get frustrated that they mostly talk about workshops and policy briefs. What I've always wanted was participating in a community of builders and experimenters, kind of like Indie Hackers but for international development.
So I might as well kickstart that community. I started setting up Development Hackers with forem last week and right now I'm trying to figure out what to do before launching it.
I would love to connect with anyone who's curious about building tech and solving global problems. And if anyone's got tips about kickstarting a forem I'm all ears !
Thanks !
This is all so awesome, Rayan!
I know I met you already on your Forem, but really awesome to have you here. 😀
The mission behind your community sounds amazing and is definitely in line with our values as a company. We're honored to have you build this community on Forem. 🙌
This week is a bit busy for me, but I'm going to reach out to ya here soon and see if we might be able to meet up so that I can give you a general walkthrough of the Forem platform, learn more about your community, and gather any feedback you have for us about your experience thus far.
I'll be in touch in the near future. Until then, hope all is well!
Salut Rayan !
I'm Ella, and I'm a few hours away from you in Bretagne ☺️
I'm in Michael's team at Forem and also excited to hear about your Forem. I can heavily relate to your pain here (got a job with an international development NGO straight out of college but felt the same frustrations and left shortly afterwards to work directly with communities). Your business training app sounds a lot like Paulo Friere's work.
I just joined your Forem - excited to see where this goes !
Salut Ella :)
Happy to hear the message resonates with you too !
We'll build a productive and positive community for people who want to get things done in international development 🙌
Hello everyone 👏

Hello everyon!
My name is Phuc, from Vietnam.
I am a mobile/web engineer.
I am here to learn about forem and use this great framework(?)/platform to build a local (Vietnamese) community.
I am willing to contribute to the codebase if allowed.
Thanks!
Hey @thphuc - we're glad you made it!
Looking forward to seeing your community get up and running on Forem.
And, of course, you're welcome to contribute to the codebase - paging @coffeecraftcode who manages our OSS contributions to make the introduction 💛

Heyo to anyone who pops in here! 👋
First off, don't hesitate to ask any questions if you have any.
If you're new here and just getting started with launching your own self-hosted Forem, you'll likely want to take a look through some of the articles tagged with #selfhost and #tutorial posted under the Forem Core Team.
We're also encouraging community members to post their own user-guided tutorials under #creatorwalkthroughs... more info on that in this post.
Anyway, just a bit of information for you as you get started here! Hope you enjoy the site and again, ask away if you need help with anything! (Also feel free to post questions under #help!)
Hello guys! My name is Amber Clarisse Cubacub, I am a first year BS in Information Technology college student and I am a part time frontend developer. My hobbies are reading and vlogging...
I am here to share my knowledge and ask questions here for the codes... I hope we could get along togethere
Heyo Amber
Just a heads up that this site is really dedicated to folks who are interested in building and administering Forem communities!
We do have 2 Forems — DEV & CodeNewbie — which are run by the Forem team and dedicated to developers who are interested in sharing knowledge around coding. Please check out both of these communities and I think you'll be very happy with what you find there!
That said, if you're interested in launching a Forem community yourself, then this is definitely the place to be. Feel free to browse around, and if you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask. Happy to help!
Hi everyone! I'm Álvaro from Austin, TX. I enjoy doing web development and building weird things with HTML and CSS (like CSS art or CSS games).
I'm here to learn more about Forem and suggest feature ideas based on my use of DEV and CodeNewbie communities.
Hey Alvaro! 👋
Great to see you here on forem.dev. I've seen quite a few of your posts on DEV and know that you're a trusted user there too. 🙌
Anyway, just to say appreciate all the awesome stuff you do on DEV and excited to have you here in this community to help by suggesting feature requests for the Forem platform that will better the DEV and CodeNewbie communities.
Hello World!👋
I'm Hilmi from Indonesia.
I'm a Software Quality Assurance Engineer from Indonesia.

Hi! I'm Ben. I work on AI platforms and AI-powered experiences. Nice to be a part of this community.
Anyway, I've been thinking of creating a new tech+design community for a particular group of people, and also would like to create a place where community members can post and sell their products/designs to external customers. Essentially a place where freelancers/contractors can sell digital products to customers that are not part of the community themselves.
The gap I see with the Forem Listings module is that it's only available to community members. Not all customers will be community members, so it would need to be accessible outside of Forem.
I see the Dev.to community uses Forem+Shopify for the Dev.to Merch Shop, and while that works for a centrally managed company merch shop, it doesn't really allow for community members to self-post and self-manage their shop listings. Any thoughts on that from this group?
PS I'd be interested in contributing to Forem in a sort of Product Management capacity...let me know if and how :)
Hey Ben 👋
Really great to have you here!
This is a really cool idea for a community and I can totally see how it'd be helpful for you all to have Listings open so that non-community members could purchase items.
However I will note that currently DEV Listings is open to be viewed by anyone (community member or not) and when folks sell items over DEV Listings using the "stuff for sale" category (dev.to/listings/forsale) they aren't actually directly selling the item through Listings so much as they are just advertising it. Most folks selling stuff here are asking to be contacted or linking elsewhere. It's a bit like Craigslist.
All this said, I know we have future plans to improve Listings, I just don't think it's a big priority for us right now. Still, if you have any ideas to improve features on Listings then please do let us know by writing up a feature request under #features.
Also, really cool that your interested in contributing to Forem in a sort of Product Management capacity — we just got 2 new product folks on the team and are onboarding them now. I honestly can't speak to how you might be able to contribute in this capacity. However, I'll point you to our open source repo here so that you might get an idea of things we're working on. Hopefully in the near future we'll be able to offer a product roadmap that makes things clearer.
Really appreciate you sharing your interest in Forem, and don't hesitate to ask away if you have any other questions + feel free to contact us with any feedback.

Hello @peter_quint - your content is actually offtopic for this community and has been marked as spam. I'm going to be removing it and would appreciate if you only post on-topic content if you're interested in engaging with the community and building your own Forem.
Hey! I don't quite understand the difference between dev.to and forem.dev - but I enjoy both sites! I'm guessing dev.to is more of a blog site and forem.to is a discussion board?
Hey Ashley! 👋
That's a great question and I'd be happy to help explain the difference. 🙂
DEV (dev.to) is a community for software developers to write and read articles pertinent to programming. It is built on the community platform called Forem. The DEV team actually created Forem after creating DEV... here's an announcement post for Forem that our founder Ben shared on DEV which explains the whole idea of Forem.
Forem.dev is a community for folks interested in creating their own Forem communities. It's kind of our meta Forem — a Forem about Forem. Here's an announcement post for forem.dev that appeared on dev.to. Most of the folks in the forem.dev community are looking for advice on setting up a Forem of their own or they want guidance on managing their Forem community or potentially they have feature ideas to improve the platform that they want to brainstorm with the Forem team.
Note that the DEV (dev.to) team and the Forem team are one in the same! Forem is the company name and the Forem platform is our product. DEV is the largest community running on the Forem platform and we manage this community.
Hope this helps! Of course, let me know if you have any questions. 😀
Thank you for your great reply! So I do have a few questions:
I noticed my username was free, is that because they are reserved for github usernames (which matches my username) or because I got lucky?
Lets say I have a meta-question about something on dev.to specifically, should I come here or shall I stay there? (The dev.to 'contact' page forwarded me here, making me think this is the 'discussion' part of dev.to)
Does the style of post vary at all between dev.to and here? This place felt more like a forum than a blog site, yet now that I look closely, both sites do indeed operate identically! Maybe it's just the nature of the content that feels different (questions / blogs) rather than the structure of the site itself.
Thank you for being so accommodating!
Hey @ashe , again with the great questions! I'm Ella, and I work with Michael on the Forem (and dev.to!) Community Team 👋 glad you could join us here.
We don't reserve usernames, but since Forem.dev is a pretty specialist community (for people who are interested in hosting their own Forems), it's small enough that you got in early and scored your choice of username. Which it seems like you did on GitHub too, so I'm about to ask you for some lottery numbers 🍀
For the most part, a meta question about dev.to will be a question about Forem. We tend to lean towards any question about any Forem being a helpful question for all Forems. Although that's not 100% accurate, there's a good chance that a meta question about dev.to will be informative for Admins of other Forems.
Each Forem is a community in its own right, so content definitely varies between Forems. The software these communities are run on is the same (Forem) but the communities themselves are different. That means the content on dev.to (a developer community) is different to the content on forem.dev (a Forem community), which is different to the content on 1vibe.com (hip hop) or flowstate.to (health and fitness) or joinforest.com (sustainable living).
I hope this helps! And please feel free to keep the questions coming.

Hey all,
I am looking around to get a feeling if I want to self-host Forem (or Discourse) for a private community of customers. If you have any pros and cons, let me know.
So far it looks like Forem would be better as it also allows static structure, but it does feel a bit more complex and (in the mobile app) the design seems buggy. On the other hand it has an app and seems to be quite active. Is it also useable for Q&A style usage, what do you think?
Welcome @ecki - I think this comment would make a great standalone post! Maybe you could title is "Pros and cons of Forem"? I'm sure several members of this community will have opinions on both sides!

If you decide you want to try self-hosting a Forem, I must recommend @coffeecraftcode 's excellent series of guides here.
And of course, if you have any questions, don't hesitate to reach out!
Hello Community,
My name is Ron Sheridan (Portland, Oregon), and I plan to create an online community called AIAwareness.app.
The purpose of the community is to help folks gain or grow their personal or team AI Awareness.
I intend to build the Community on Forem, create an AI Resources and Links index, and create a focused news topic hub.
My background is in the startup space, with a focus on strategic execution, business development, and fundraising. However, I am not a developer, PM, etc.
Right now, I need to find someone who can get an instance of FOREM set up for me.
Hello World of cool!!! 😎
I am Seyi from Lagos, Nigeria..
I am a wanna be Cyber Engineer and a backend programmer...
Started my journey with the basics of python and networking....

I also want to better myself, and become an informed Cyber Engineer with complete understanding of backend programming.

Hello Everyone! 👋
I've been working as a programmer since 2013, starting in Ruby-on-Rails, and more recently in full-stack JavaScript. I love the React ecosystem and have moved all the projects I can to a serverless runtime environment. My Linux administration chops have been getting pretty rusty over the last four years, but if I had to go back to running commands on a server I would use Ansible and Docker as much as possible.
For the last several years I've been leading a full-stack web development bootcamp called Burlington Code Academy, and since 2018 we have graduated over 150 people into the tech industry. Many of them have been able to change their lives with the skills they learned during the program.
If you have questions about web development, React, Ruby, or then JAMStack then drop me a line and I'll do my best to help you. Remember that feeling overwhelmed is normal, and nobody knows everything. Embrace your community, and be open to receiving help and feedback.
Hey @dangeranger , you may want to join dev.to or the CodeNewbie Forem to share this information.
This particular community here is focused on deploying and managing Forem software rather than more general coding, so your intro is pretty off-topic and it reads as spammy.
Hi @ellativity
Thanks for the feedback here.
I was attending a workshop presented by the Forem team about how to self-host and, after following a link in a welcome email, landed on this introduction thread. In my haste I missed the topic description and structure at the top of the page.
Would you suggest editing my original post or simply deleting it and re-introducing myself?
This is absolutely fine, Joshua! Thanks for clarifying this. We're glad you found your way to the community you intended to be in, and hope you find what you're looking for here.
You've probably already figured out that @coffeecraftcode is incredibly helpful and knowledgeable on the subject of Forem Self-Host! We highly recommend bookmarking Christina's intro to self-host post for future reference. Since it's the beginning of her series on Forem Self-Host it's also easy to find the other Self-Host guides from.
If you have any questions not answered in Christina's series, then we also suggest reviewing topics already posted under the #help tag where you can also post any questions you still have that weren't already answered.
I hope this info helps you to make the most out of Forem.dev!

I join here and hope to share my knowledge and ask programming questions here. I will strive to improve my programming level and help more people. Maybe I will also establish a forem based community for my friends and classmates.
Hello seniors from all around the world.
I'm Nyareh from Myanmar. I'm no one but a student still learning web development.
Hey Nyareh, welcome! What community are you working on with your Forem?
Currently, I'm working on nothing.
Hello Everyone, Am Josie, Web3 Enthusiast and Marketing Analyst In a Web3 Development Company. I joined this community to share my thoughts with you people and also learn a lot of new things from you guys.

Hello everyone,
name's Matteo and I hail from France.
I am building (or at least trying to) a markdown editor that allows publishing to multiple sources such as Dev.to, Hashnode, Medium (once I figure out if their api is still maintained - though it does not appear to be so).
In my day to day life I am a Research and Development engineer in a small company based off of Marseille.
I got here by searching for more information on the forem ecosystem and documentation.
Glad to be here !
Hello all... I found FOREM through Dev.to and I'm eager to learn more about FOREM to implement into my own projects. I'm sure I'll have many questions but wanted to drop a "hello" first.
My background is in web development with html, css, js, php, and MySql. I'm used to working with PHPBB and Wordpress for community building. I'm by no means an expert in any of these languages or software. I have a generalized approach to coding until I find my niche.
I'll contribute where I'm able to but I believe I'll be more of a learner here. Cheers.

Hey there! I'm Matthew Garry, an enthusiastic Junior Full Stack Web Developer passionate about building meaningful digital solutions. My focus areas include mental healthcare, accessible educational information, and fostering real connections using modern web technologies.
Hey @peter_quint , welcome to forem.dev - are you setting up a Forem related to crypto or entrepreneurship?
Hey everyone,
I'm from Brazil, currently living in Brasília, Brazil's capital. With a background in bootcamps like Le Wagon and DIO, I'm eager to secure my first job as a Full Stack ( three months now searching for it ... 💩 ). I enjoy coding challenges, whether it's fixing bugs or exploring new projects. When I'm not coding, you'll find me exploring new places, indulging in exotic foods, and watching questionable independent films. I'm addicted to jumpscare games, RPGs, and can't resist diving back into Hogwarts Legacy or The Sims 👾. I also love to travel; with family in other states i'm always on the move. I would love some tips on landing my first job in the field and recommendations on areas of study as I'm still early in my tech journey.
Looking forward to connecting, learning, and sharing with all of you! 🌈
I'm here to learn more about the Forem platform and how I can use it to build a community. I'm also interested in seeing what features the DEV Community has implemented. Lastly, I'm interested in collaborating with others to come up with new ideas and features for the platform.

Hello! I'm Jeremy Neal, a full-stack engineer in the US! I'm here to join the developer community and find out about open source projects I can get involved in! :D
Hey Jeremy!
You may prefer DEV (dev.to) or the CodeNewbie Community for dev-specific content.
This community is all about the platform Forem that both DEV and CodeNewbie are built on. It's a kinda meta-community in that way. 🙂
However, you may also be interested in building a community on Forem. You can get a sense of the types of Forem communities that are currently out there via discover.forem.com/ and if you decide you want to start your own community, you can do so via self-hosting.
Of course if any questions come up, don't hesitate to let us know.
I'm looking for ways to get ahead of this web.3 and also seamlessly move others into web.4.0 lol or prolly web.3.1 next but yes I'm excited for NFTs and the capability and capacity we have to fulfill everyone's needs maybe stop homelessness and starving kids!! Many other things like Technical analysis of Crypto charts and web programming techniques acceptable everywhere, everyday!!

How I came to know about the Forem Dev community was through an article posted in the Google News feed. It covered several ways to improve one's Project portfolio presence on GitHub. The member who wrote this was Sarit Chaet Hudis. Awesome Kudos for her effort!!!
My relevant focus here centers around Data Analytics utilizing the Python Ecosystem. My main hobby involves cooking Mediterranean style food and Oriental Cuisine.
Hey @avalea Welcome to forem.dev - from the sounds of it, you may have been looking for he DEV Community.
Confusingly, we both have "dev" in our addresses, and we're both built using Forem software, but DEV is the community for developers whereas forem.dev is the community for people who are building communities using Forem software.
Hope this helps!
Hi all! I am Chris from Australia!
I am not a developer but my job is to support customers when something is not working as intended. So I get to look into logs a lot just to find something odd (not that I understand them fully!).
I joined because I really liked that dev.to is super engineered Rails code.
I want to build my own Forem just because it looks really fun!

Hello there @sm0ke ! You're welcome to participate in this community, but if you're looking to learn programming then our community over at CodeNewbie might be a better fit for you. This Forem is dedicated to creators and admins of Forems, rather than programming, so the content mainly covers how to set up your own FOSS Forem and maintain it.

Hey there,
This community is really all about building communities on the Forem platform. As such, we don't focus on software development in general here.
If your primarily interested in software development, you should consider joining the DEV Community, for developers of any skill level, or the CodeNewbie Community which is directed more toward beginner devs.
Hope this is helpful!
