The latest feed always seems to put the second latest item first followed by the latest then everything else.
Not sure if this is just for me, or if there is a bug somewhere causing it.

Actually is it showing the last post with a cover image?

Yes, it is mandatory to have a cover picture for a post to be on the top. I think it is something which makes sense, I guess!
