When I manually create a post on Dev.to, I'm offered a "Add a cover image" button. I would love having this ability when using the RSS feed as well. I'm already including a media:content tag in my RSS feed, as used by LinkedIn, Twitter, etc. I'd love for this to appear on Dev.to, as well.

I think this would be awesome!
One thing to consider here if we offered this is how would we squish down the size of the image to fit our window.
I know that right now whenever I insert a cover image I often have to play around with it a bit to get it the right size to fit the window.
To be clear, I don't see this as a blocker to your proposal, just something we'd likely want to think about!
Agreed, this is an awesome suggestion.
One suggestion, to solve the issue of image size, is to add the proper dimensions to our documents guide, for example: 1100px x 450px
