We had this problem as well. Luckily our users reached out to us well since they were apprehensive about signing up.

Yup, we should make this more clear... No forem needs more than email, and it's not part of the code....
But we've had similar problems along the way, never caused too much harm.
I should have known better. I have built apps that request Twitter permissions before. Can't believe I didn't spot it!
