I can also report the same with my sitemap. I submitted /sitemap-index.xml and when I click that inside the search console I also see the following sitemaps:
Im not sure if there is more for us to do beyond this.
Once you get past 10k posts you can add paged sitemaps, and they are zero-indexed, so you can add https://dev.to/sitemap-posts-1.xml, https://dev.to/sitemap-posts-2.xml, etc. for every 10k published posts that meet your configured minimum score for indexing.
