There has been discussion on this off and on for a few years. This issue github.com/forem/forem/issues/1716 had good discussion both for and against this idea. I ended up closing it in the repo because it had been open for a long time without any really consensus. I'd be happy to open up a post here for people to discuss the feature if you would like :)
I do agree that there are some really good points being made on both sides of this. Personally I like the suggestion that the feature could be a preference a user can toggle on/off in their settings. Users have unique behavior habits that they've built over time and giving them the option to choose would be great.
