Sitemap submission frequency shouldn't matter, as Google will still read sitemaps over and over again. As long as what is submitted is complete, it should be fine.
But what we don't offer right now is a lot of clarity and guidelines about how our tools should be used in conjunction with Google Search Console. This is probably the biggest missing feature.
